Henry McDonald, nine-book author who has worked for The Guardian, The Observer, The Sunday Times, BBC, Irish News and Sunday News, now becomes Associate Editor of the News Letter

Henry McDonald of Belfast brings a wealth of experience to his new role. He has reported on the unrest, preparations for ceasefires, and in Easter 1998 he wrote one of the final accounts of how the Belfast deal was secured.

He also wrote from Lebanon and reported the first Gulf War. Author of nine books, Henry has worked for The Guardian, The Observer, The Sunday Times, BBC, Irish News and Sunday News. Now he has returned home to Northern Ireland to guide readers through the intricacies of Ulster politics.

News Letter Editor-in-Chief Ben Lowry said: “I am delighted that Rod and Henry are joining us. It is a real vote of confidence in the newspaper that we are recruiting journalists of such caliber, and one more reason for readers to subscribe! (see link below)
